ANGKASA PURA I NOW REOPERATION OF TERMINAL A, ADI SUTJIPTO AIRPORT

PT ANGKASA Pura I or AP I re-operated Terminal A as a passenger departure terminal as of today, Tuesday (2/01). However, Terminal A of Adi Sutjipto Airport is again functioning as a passenger departure terminal.

AP I President Director Faik Fahmi explained previously that passenger departure operations were carried out through Terminal B as of early 2020. Thus, if previously the departure of passengers was through Terminal B, now it is re-centred through Terminal A. In the future, Terminal B will be deactivated for passenger service operational activities.

Faik said that with the re-functioning of Terminal A as a passenger departure terminal, we are accompanied by optimizing services for airport service users, as well as implementing strict health protocols. In terms of area, Terminal A has an area of up to 9,899 m2, compared to Terminal B which only reaches 6,162 m2.

With a larger terminal capacity, the level of passenger service and implementation of health protocols can be more optimal. Previously, Adisutjipto Airport Terminal A was deactivated in early 2020, and then used as a marketing area for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) products and the creative industry in Yogyakarta in the form of TILAS (Adisutjipto Lawas Point) since 29 May 2021.

Judging from the data, as many as 140,011 airplane passengers and 3,125 aircraft have been served at Adisutjipto Airport during 2021. Although this figure is far below the statistics in 2020, where 1,523 million passengers and 14,958 aircraft were served, there is a trend of growth in the number of passengers. and aircraft at Adisutjipto Airport in the second half of 2021.

After experiencing a drastic decrease in the number of passengers in July 2021 due to the implementation of the Emergency implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) policy, the number of passengers and aircraft served at Adisutjipto Airport experienced significant growth in the second half of 2021, with an average monthly passenger growth in the second semester of up to 82.6 %, and the average monthly growth in the number of aircraft in semester II/2021 is up to 50%.

In fact, the number of passengers served in the second semester of 2021 grew compared to the number in the first semester, which was 79,398 passengers compared to 60,613 passengers, or grew 31%. With a wider area and a larger boarding area capacity, of course Terminal A can better accommodate the passenger growth trend that occurred at Adisutjipto Airport.

In addition, Terminal A is equipped with 8 aircraft parking stands that will facilitate the operation of the air side, as well as a large vehicle parking area. Terminal A is also equipped with TILAS which is an added value. [bisnis.com/photo special]
