ANGKASA PURA I (AP I) as the manager of Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, is ready to receive the first international flights arriving in Bali after international flights at the airport opened since October 2021.
The plan is that the first commercial international flight after the international route at the airport was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic is a flight from Narita, Japan by Garuda Indonesia airline which is scheduled to arrive in Bali on Thursday afternoon, February 3, 2022.
“The plan is that tomorrow Garuda Indonesia’s Narita-Denpasar route will arrive in Bali at around 16.35 WITA. This is the first international commercial flight that we serve,” said Stakeholder Relations Manager Angkasa Pura I International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, Taufan Yudhistira in Badung Regency, Wednesday (2/03).
He said Angkasa Pura I, which is the manager of Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, is ready to welcome the first flight.
The preparations include facilities and infrastructure as well as the flow of services for passengers upon arrival at the international arrival terminal, undergoing a PCR test until they leave for the hotel where they are quarantined.
“We have prepared officers and have also received the COVID-19 booster vaccine, we have prepared facilities and facilities. The point is that all airport stakeholders are ready to welcome and serve passengers on tomorrow’s first international flight and subsequent international flights,” he said.
Taufan Yudhistira explained, to welcome the international flight, it is also planned to carry out an inaugural procession in the form of a water salute when the Garuda Indonesia flight from Narita arrives.
“For the planning pax or the planned number of passengers who will arrive from Japan tomorrow, we have yet to receive the information,” he said.
In addition to Garuda Indonesia, according to Taufan Yudhistira, AP I has received international flight permits from Singapore Airlines and Batik Air. The airlines Singapore Airlines and Batik Air are planning to serve the same flight route, namely Bali-Singapore starting at the end of February. [sources/photo special]
