FINALLY, INDONESIA RESTARTS SERVING INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS TO BALI

THE INDONESIAN Government has started to re-serve international flights to Bali, which will be effective on February 4, 2022, marked by the landing of the inauguration flight by a Garuda Indonesia aircraft from Narita Airport, Japan, to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar.

The opening of Bali flight services for foreign tourists is good news for all parties, especially tourism businesses and the creative economy in Bali. Therefore, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy welcomes the arrival of foreign tourists to Bali.

According to the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Nia Niscaya, when welcoming the arrival of foreign tourists at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Thursday (2/03) conveyed that the reopening of international entrances was aimed at restoring the Balinese economy which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Even so, the precautionary principle in preventing the spread of COVID-19 is still put forward.

“Thank you to Garuda Indonesia, because this is a form of our collaboration with Garuda to realize international flights to Bali. With the operation of international flights to Bali, the opportunity to increase the national economy from the tourism sector and the creative economy is in sight. The decision to reopen flight access is not without reason. The government has considered various risks and potentials related to the reopening of international entrances in Bali,” Nia said.

Nia explained, even though it was officially reopened, the government still imposed strict requirements for foreign tourists who wanted to visit Bali. The application of this condition is carried out to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19, both for tourists and the local community.

“We require Overseas Travelers (PPLN) to take part in the warm-up vacation package and follow the applicable circulars,” she noted.

Furthermore, Nia explained that warming up vacation is different from quarantine. One of the differences is that the hotel services provided by PPLN are not limited to only staying in the room, but are more flexible in allowing PPLN to move around the hotel.

“These five hotels also have different public facilities between regular guests and warm up vacation guests, including swimming pool facilities, gym, dining room, and other facilities. To optimize warm up vacation services, hotel managers do not allow their employees to go home and they stay in the hotel,” said Nia.

At this initial stage, only 5 hotels are ready to serve PPLN’s warm up vacation. The five hotels prepared for a warm up vacation for PPLN in Bali are Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua (Nusa Dua), Westin Resort (Nusa Dua), Griya Santrian (Sanur), Viceroy (Ubud), and Royal Tulip (Jimbaran).

“Because of these five hotels, currently they are ready in terms of facilities to disciplined health protocols. That today, Thursday (3/2/2022), there are 6 tourism business players from Japan who came to feel the experience of vacationing in Indonesia with the warming up vacation rule,” he said.

She explained that they were invited to Indonesia to inform them that Bali had been opened. So, they are experiencing this warm up vacation at the Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua Hotel.

In welcoming foreign tourists, Nia continued, the Government also provides convenience to PPLN in Bali with the requirements, among others, to have an e-Visa whose quota is not limited. Then, join the warm up vacation package for 5 days/4 nights at the bubble hotel. Provided, show the PCR results 48 hours before departure. Take a 7-day warm-up vacation package for the first dose of vaccine and 5 days for the full-dose vaccine.

“PCR test upon arrival and on the 4th day (5 days of warm up vacation) or on the 6th day (7 days of warm up vacation). And, as protection, PPLN is required to have tourism insurance worth US$25,000,” Nia finished. [traveltext.id]
