READY TO GO BACK IN THE AIR, TRANSNUSA STARTS PROVING FLIGHT TRIALS

TRANSNUSA has started testing proving flights with the Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) route to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in preparation to return to serving scheduled flights after it stopped operating in September last year.

According to Transnusa President Director Bayu Sutanto, said the test used an Airbus A320 Neo PK-TLA aircraft with flight number 8B 532. The proving flight successfully landed on the runway after a 1 hour 25-minute flight from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“The success of this proving flight is part of the AOC recertification process before Transnusa finally operates again with a new fleet of aircraft and routes,” he said in a press release, Saturday (2/05).

Bayu Sutanto explained that the proving flight will continue to Kupang Eltari Airport (KOE) and other airports, namely I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and Juanda International Airport Surabaya (SUB).

He also hopes that a new Air Operator Certificate (AOC) will be issued by the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation so that Transnusa can immediately carry out commercial flight operations with a fleet of 3 Airbus A320 aircraft.

“For information, proving flights are an operational test process to ensure the airline’s readiness to operate aircraft on a number of routes being flown and is part of the recertification assessment process in granting AOC before taking commercial flights. PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri, the business owner of the TransNusa airline since September 2020, has chosen to temporarily close its operational activities for September 8-30, 2020,” he said.

He explained, TransNusa announced the temporary suspension of flights using its airline. The letter was signed by Head of Sales & Revenue Management Rajasegaran Rajoo. The reason for the termination is considering the cases of the COVID-19 pandemic that are still spreading and tend to increase in all provinces in Indonesia.

TransNusa conveyed the temporary closure of the operations of all the airline’s flights until the situation was completely recovered and there was a vaccine that could ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia would end soon. [bisnis.com/photo traveltext.id]
