ASTINDO WILL BE HELD A HYBRID TRAVEL FAIR ON MARCH 3-6, 2022 AT PIK

ALONG with the mission to reactivate the tourism industry while supporting economic recovery. Nationally, ASTINDO, the Association of Indonesian Travel Agents will hold the ASTINDO Hybrid Travel Fair on 3-6 March 2022, at the Main Atrium of the PIK Avenue Jakarta Shopping Center North.

ASTINDO regularly holds the ASTINDO Travel Fair from 2011-2020, as well as ASTINDO Virtual Travel Fair 2021, with the aim of helping its members, travel agents in throughout Indonesia so that they can promote to the public at affordable prices.

ASTINDO Hybrid Travel Fair 2022 will be held in a shopping center with a smaller scale, apart from more easily accessible by the public, ASTINDO also collaborates with PIK Avenue Mall so that prices land rent is not too burdensome for its members, the travel agents, who have been making losses so far.

According to the General Chairwoman of ASTINDO, Pauline Suharno, referring to the instructions of the Indonesian government, the public is asked to adhere to health protocols, but must still be able to dynamic the economy.

“ASTINDO ventured to hold a travel fair even during implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM). Travel agents have suffered for 2 years, with the prevalence of vaccinations in Indonesia, and seeing the conditions abroad that have begun to facilitate tourist travel, both domestic and international, we think this is the right time to start selling our merchandise and selling again,” she said.

Pauline explained, of course, the hope is that travel agents can increase sales, especially considering the conditions last year where there was a consistent increase in sales transactions starting from January 2021-November 2021.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the ASTINDO Hybrid Travel Fair 2022 Organizing Committee, Anton Sumarli, said that this event will be held offline and online, so that visitors, apart from visiting the PIK Avenue Mall, can also see the travel fair showcase through the website www.astindovirtualtravelfair.com, and interact directly with travel assistant from travel agents.

“Also participating in this event apart from 15 Travel Agents, there are 4 tourist villages that won the 2021 Tourism Village Award, 13 domestic and international airlines, namely All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Citilink, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Garuda Indonesia, Japan Airlines, Nam Air, Qatar Airlines, Qantas Airways, Singapore Airlines, Sriwijaya Air, Super Air jets,” he said.

He added that foreign tourism promotion agencies were also present to enliven the 2022 ASTINDO Hybrid Travel Fair, namely Tourism Australia which became the preferred destination, Korea Tourism Organization, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Singapore Tourism Board and Tourism Malaysia.

“It is hoped that in the 4-day period ASTINDO Travel Fair 2022, more than 10,000 direct visitors, besides being attended online from various parts of Indonesia. Besides that, in order to support government programs which in this case is the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, ASTINDO will subsidize the price of Domestic Tour Packages, especially for destination 5 Super Priority Destinations (DSP). So that the 5 DSP tour packages will be more affordable,” added Anton.

ASTINDO certainly hopes that this travel fair can be one of the triggers of enthusiasm for travel agent friends.
