GUIDE TO TRAVEL TO SINGAPORE STARTING APRIL 1 WITHOUT QUARANTINE

STARTING April 1, 2022, the Singapore government has lifted the mandatory quarantine for all travelers who have been vaccinated. If you are planning to travel in the near future, there are a few guidelines to follow.

In addition to lifting quarantine obligations for immigrants, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said his government would also remove the obligation to wear masks in the open and allow more people to gather.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has released a quick guide for non-quarantine travel to Singapore. The first thing to prepare before departure is to get proof of vaccination from PeduliLindungi in the WHO international certificate format which can be downloaded via the application.

Then confirm the ticket for any airline flight to Singapore. Also get travel insurance with a coverage value of 30,000 Singapore dollars for treatment costs related to COVID-19.

What must be underlined is that the value of the insurance protection is not the value of the premium paid. After that, download the TraceTogether app and register your profile. Three days before departure, send your SG Arrival Card and electronic health declaration via the official and free electronic service on the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website.

Then, two days before departure, do a COVID-19 test, be it Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) or Antigen Rapid Test (ART) which is carried out by medical professionals, not self-testing at home. Upon arrival, you can immediately explore and enjoy Singapore safely.

However, short-term visitors aged 13 years and over who have not been fully vaccinated will require a valid approval letter to enter Singapore subject to a 7-day Stay Home Notice (quarantine).

Meanwhile, visitors who have been vaccinated and recovered from COVID-19 before departure can use the Vaccinated-Recovered portal to register a recovery statement before departure and will be exempt from all test requirements.

As an added guide, you can also download the VisitSingapore app for all important travel information and apply for the SG Arrival Card for flight check-in and immigration processing. [antaranews]
