EXPERT Staff for Crisis Management at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Henky Manurung, hopes that the new services for tourists from the travel accommodation platform RedDoorz can help develop the creative economy.
“The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy congratulates the launch of Urbanview, we hope this is not the first and last, but a kick off to develop the creative economy going forward,” Henky said at an online press conference, Tuesday (3/29).
He explained that the presence of new services in the midst of talks about the transition from a pandemic to an endemic shows the initiative of business entities to rise up and innovate in attracting tourists to travel. In the future health protocols will become an important aspect for tourism, as well as the uniqueness of a service.
“I encouraged business entities to immediately obtain CHSE certification (cleanliness, health, safety and environmental friendliness) to ensure the safety and comfort of employees, guests and the surrounding environment,” he noted.
Currently, the government is implementing a quarantine-free policy for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) to Bali, Batam, and Bintan and then expanded to 7 entrances in Indonesia which has a positive impact on the level of foreign tourist arrivals.
This impact is also reinforced by the special tourist Visa On Arrival (VOA) service provided by the government to PPLN from 42 countries to Bali as well as Batam and Bintan.
The government plans to expand VOA facilities to several other entry points in Indonesia, such as Medan Kualanamu Airport, Soekarno-Hatta Tangerang-Banten, Juanda Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar and Sam Ratulangi Manado.
However, the plan will be carried out in stages by looking at the existing data, especially in the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic which is currently improving and the implementation of strict health protocols and discipline which also continues to increase. [antaranews/photo special]
