I GUSTI Ngurah Rai Airport has again added to the list of regular international flight routes by re-operating the Perth-Bali round trip flight route served by Jetstar airlines. Ngurah Rai Airport now serves flights to and from three cities in Australia, namely Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
“As of today, one more flight from Australia connects Perth with Bali,” said PT Angkasa Pura I President Director Faik Fahmi.
Flight JQ110 which landed in Bali on Friday (4/08) at 11.44 WITA was the initial milestone for the operation of the route which had stopped since March 2020. The flight, which operates the Boeing A320 aircraft, carried 153 passengers.
The same plane then returned to the air at 13.10 WITA carrying 87 passengers, serving the Bali-Perth route via flight number JQ109.
“Based on the schedule, this route will operate every day,” he said.
Faik explained that Ngurah Rai Airport now serves flights to and from three cities in Australia, namely Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Prior to the pandemic, Australia was one of the countries that consistently contributed the most foreign tourists to Bali.
“With the increasing number of routes connected to Bali, we are very optimistic that Australian tourists visiting Bali will increase,” said Faik Fahmi.
Faik Fahmi added that Ngurah Rai Airport now serves eight international routes, namely Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Doha, Istanbul, and Perth. Australia is the country with the most cities connected to Bali, with three cities.
There are 10 airlines serving regular international flights, namely Garuda Indonesia, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Jetstar Asia, Scoot, KLM, Jetstar, AirAsia, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines. [antaranews/photo special]
