SANDIAGA: REOG IS CLAIMED BY MALAYSIA, THE MINISTRY IS AT THE FOREFRONT

MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno during the Weekly Press Briefing in Jakarta, Monday (4/11) said that we ensured that the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy would maximally fight for Reog Ponorogo as a local wisdom of indigenous Indonesian culture recognized by UNESCO.

“Reog is one of the cultural-based and very specific economic products originating from Ponorogo, East Java. We will continue to coordinate with related parties, so that this issue can be escorted to completion,” said Minister Sandiaga Uno.

He explained that several times I had witnessed and was greeted by the art of reog, an extraordinary experience. This is an opportunity that can become a tourist attraction that will stimulate the economy, create business opportunities and employment opportunities.

“I invite all of us to be able to display reog in the performing arts festival, so that it will continue to be sustainable. Because if we don’t preserve it, we might lose it and be claimed by other countries,” he concluded. [traveltext.id/sandiuno instagram]
