THE BNI Java Jazz Festival (BNIJJF) 2022 will be held offline on 27-29 May 2022 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The diversity of music genres as well as musicians is an interesting treat at BNIJJF 2022. Bringing dozens of musicians, especially from abroad, to be able to perform at BNIJJF 2022 is not easy.
According to the main director of Java Festival Production, Dewi Gontha at a press conference in Jakarta (4/21) said that seeing the date that coincided with the tour in America and Europe, I felt that there were obstacles in presenting foreign musicians.
However, Dewi is trying her best so that the 2022 BNIJJF runs smoothly as planned. “It’s not easy to be honest. Our problem is that we compete with the existing tours in America and Europe for foreign musicians. As a result, one of the world’s renowned musicians, PJ Morton, is certain to appear rocking the BNIJJF 2022 stage,” she said.
She explained for the ticket prices, to watch PJ Morton, the ticket price is IDR450 thousand, while the daily pass festival ticket is priced at IDR850 thousand.
Besides Morton, the lineup of musicians who performed at JJF22 included Tohpati, Dewa Budjana, Kahitna, Adhitia Sofyan, Andmesh Kamaleng, RAN, Marcell, Jaz, Rendy Pandugo, Afgan, Juicy Luicy, D’Masiv, Endah N Rhesa, and Fiersa Besari. Among young musicians, there are Arsy Widianto & Tiara Andini (ARTI), Sivia, Gangga, Nadin Amizah, Rizky Febian, Mikha Angelo, Idgitaf, and many more.
A special collaboration at the upcoming festival, namely Candra Darusman with Dira, Natasya Elvira, Rivan Kalbuadi, and Sandy Sondhoro. There are also MLDJAZZPROJECT collaborations with Kaleb J, Basboi, and Budi Doremi and MLDSPOT COLLABORATION with Nonaria, Dua Empat, Vira Talisa, and Ify Alyssa.
“These names are included in the announcement of the second phase of the BNIJJF 2022 performers. After this, there will be announcements of a third phase with more musicians. The musicians who performed showed the diversity of musical genres, including jazz and its derivatives,” Dewi Gontha concluded.
