RUMAH Indonesia or La Maison De L’Indonésie (LMDI) will officially open on May 18 in Paris, France featuring coffee shops, Indonesian shops, galleries and an Nusantara-themed exhibition space.

“Finally, Rumah Indonesia (LMDI) in Paris has its own permanent building to be able to carry out promotional activities for Indonesian products to the fullest,” said LMDI in a statement received in Jakarta, Sunday (5/8).

Rumah Indonesia is located in Montparnasse, a strategic area for business and tourism, not far from the Montparnasse train station. The location is also in front of a new mall which will have the largest food court in Europe with an area of 6,000 square meters.

After three months of renovation, Rumah Indonesia will open with the cutting of tumpeng and performances of traditional dances by the Indonesian diaspora in France.

The 125 square meter building is decorated with Indonesian nuances by a number of talented Indonesian artisans who live in France. The ceiling is decorated with pictures of mega-cloud patterned clouds.

There is a map of Nusantara coffee carved on wood. The map shows a number of coffee-producing areas in Indonesia and features wood carvings of three distinctive Indonesian birds: the Javanese eagle, the cenderawasih, and the hornbill.

Colorful mural paintings displaying Indonesian culture, traditions, flora and fauna are displayed on the walls. Rumah Indonesia sells coffee beans and other Indonesian MSME products, such as herbs, spices, herbs, coconut soy sauce, and tea.

In addition to serving Indonesian specialties, the Rumah Indonesia coffee shop also offers Indonesian specialties such as nasi uduk, fried rice, fried noodles, and chicken noodles. Visitors to the stall can also taste Indonesian herbs made in a contemporary way.
