TOURISM in the country is starting to get excited again, especially in April-May 2022, which coincides with the return of the homecoming tradition.
According to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Traveloka, Shirley Lesmana, in a hybrid press conference with Traveloka in Jakarta, Monday (5/30), said that in April and May saw a significant increase in tourism (Indonesia). It can be seen from the level of orders for travel products that have increased. Starting from transportation, be it planes, trains, buses, to shuttles, there is an increase of 40-56%.
Furthermore, another thing that indicates that tourism is reviving is the recorded increase in bookings for accommodation such as hotels, villas, resorts, and apartments that have doubled.
According to Shirley, the enthusiasm for tourism in the country is also due to the presence of regulations and relaxation adapted to the handling of COVID-19 by the Central Government.
“This positive increase does not only come from domestic tourists, but also from international tourists. This is thanks to relaxation of regulations such as opening national borders to support tourism recovery,” said Shirley.
In addition to regulations, the COVID-19 vaccination coverage which exceeds 70% also has an effect on increasing the trust and sense of security of tourists to travel in the country.
This was conveyed by Traveloka’s VP of Commercial, John Safenson, who said that the good vaccination coverage in Indonesia also contributed to a positive increase in the tourism sector.
“From the available data, currently the concerns of travel agents on tourism have tended to decrease and their interest has actually increased. This is the impact we see in consumer demand that enters Traveloka,” concluded John. [sources/photo special]
