PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed the progress of the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project (KCJB). Through his personal Instagram account @jokowi he explained that currently the KCJB construction project has reached 88.8%.

“And if nothing goes wrong, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train will be completed in the near future and will start operating in June 2023,” Jokowi stated.
According to President Jokowi, said the KCJB project can make Indonesia’s competitiveness even stronger. It is also hoped that it can create new points of economic growth from Jakarta to Bandung Regency.
Previously, the President Director of PT Wijaya Karya Tbk. Agung Budi Waskito is optimistic that KCJB will operate according to the target in 2023. “Regarding KCJB, it is very good and currently the overall progress has reached 88%,” he said in an online Public Expose Live 2022 in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
He explained that the plan for the high-speed rail project will be carried out in two stages. First, within the framework of the G20, it is likely that a test run from Tegalluar to Padalarang will be carried out at the end of November 2022.
Second, the Commercial Operation Date (COD) or the start of the high-speed train is planned in 2023. It is planned that in early July next year the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train will start operating from Jakarta to Bandung.
Agung stated that the remaining work carried out by the company codenamed WIKA is currently only at Halim and Karawang stations, each of which has reached 75% progress and will be completed in May-June next year. Meanwhile, a series of inspection trains for the maintenance needs of KCJB have been dispatched to the Tegalluar Depot, Bandung Regency.
The series of Inspection Trains or Electric Multiple Unit Comprehensive Inspection Train (EMU-CIT) for KCJB maintenance needs arrived at the Tegalluar Depot, Bandung Regency last month.
