JAPAN TRAVEL FAIR 2023 TO BE HELD ON FEB. 3-5 AT KOTA KASABLANKA MALL, JAKARTA

THE JAPAN National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is ready to hold another Japan Travel Fair (JTF) after being hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic for almost three years and this time it will take place on February 3-5, 2023 at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta.

According to JNTO Jakarta Executive Director Tamaki Hatakenaka, said 16 travel agents in Indonesia, five airlines namely Garuda Indonesia, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Phillipine Airlines as well as seven exhibitors from Japan will participate in the event.

“Visitors will get information on a wide range of content about Japan including special ticket prices available. They can also participate in a program that offers a grand prize of free tickets to Japan,” he said in a press conference in Jakarta, recently.

Visitors will be able to find various Japan travel information from each exhibitor including visas at the Japan Visa Aplication Center (JVAC) booth to help provide information on visas to Japan.

“We have coordinated visa making to the third company, it has also been facilitated for visa making so maybe so far it is still confused, what the procedure is, so that later the explanation is easy for people who will go to Japan,” said Tamaki Hatakenaka.

On that occasion, Vice President of PT Bank Mandiri Noorman Andrianto said, tourism exhibitions like this are something that people look forward to, especially since conditions are getting better and PPKM has been revoked.

“Almost during this pandemic, there is rarely a travel fair event, especially the Japan Travel Fair, as I remember the last one in 2019, so it has been quite a while. We want to enliven what is the excitement of our customers to start traveling on vacation, this is what we are trying to facilitate,” he said.

He mentioned, various promos given at JTF 2023 include cashback of up to IDR4.5 million at certain hours during the event, flash sale bonus of one ticket to Japan, to zero percent installment transactions.

Meanwhile, All Nippon Airways (ANA) Chief Representative Akira Nishigori revealed that JTF is an effort to introduce his airline. He hopes that people who can go to Japan can promote Japan through social media about their visit to Japan.

“For ANA promotions, you can ask at the booth (during the JTF 2023 event). Not only promos, JTF 2023 will also be filled with a series of events such as talk shows with celebrities and travel bloggers, traditional Japanese dances and culture, and Japanese music performances,” he concluded.
