THE JEWELS OF BHUTAN, COMO HOTELS & RESORTS REOPENS THEIR 2 PROPERTIES

COMO Hotels & Resorts celebrates the reopening of tourism gateways in Bhutan by offering new experiences at their two beautiful properties.

Bhutan, the South Asian country known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon, is fast becoming a top destination for luxury travelers from around the world, including the latest name on the list of vacation locations for Indonesian luxury travelers.

Like a hidden gem nestled in the mountains, the country offers a wide array of top-notch luxury destinations with natural beauty, breathtaking mountain and forest views and crystal-clear rivers.

From September 23, 2022, Bhutan’s tourism gates will reopen for the first time, and the Land of the Thunder Dragon invites tourists to come and see its enchanting landscapes.

The call to come back to Bhutan is also being utilized by COMO Hotels & Resorts, a Singapore-based hotel chain that has two luxury properties in the country through COMO Uma Paro and COMO Uma Punakha. Travelers are offered an exclusive offer of a new experience for seven special nights by combining the distinctive experiences offered by each property.

Enjoy a spectacular journey through beautiful nature, a visit to a monastery, and a hike through the verdant Paro valley to reach Taktsang ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most important architectural works.

In addition, as a deeply spiritual destination, Bhutan also offers positive activities for visitors, highlighted by the traditional Butter Lamp ceremony, a spiritual blessing that represents the eradication of darkness and ignorance with wisdom and light, at the start of the journey.

This includes the opportunity to interact directly with young monks at Chorten Ningpo, a 17th-century educational institution; walk through farmhouses to reach Chimmi Lhakhang, an ancient fertility temple; and also enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayan mountains from the Dochu La mountain pass.

The trip on offer is divided into several sessions. The first night will be spent at COMO Uma Paro nestled above the Paro valley overlooking rice fields and an ancient monastery, where rooms within the property blend traditional Bhutanese craftsmanship with the modern amenities and contemporary design that characterize COMO Hotels & Resorts.

Guests staying at this luxurious property set on a hill overlooking Paro town and just a 10-minute drive from Bhutan’s international airport, will receive signature treatments at the hotel’s COMO Shambhala Retreat, home to two baths and a large indoor pool overlooking the mountains across the valley. Guests will then be invited to COMO Uma Punakha for the next three nights.

COMO Uma Punakha has over 10 villas and rooms overlooking the lush Punakha Valley and the Mo Chu River flowing through rice paddies and fruit orchards, offering intimate lodge-style accommodation with beautiful views, cozy mountain interiors featuring stone, wood, and tiles, as well as locally made bedding, furniture, and rugs, and the best of Himalayan Kingdom access and seasonal local dining experiences at Bukhari restaurant.

After exploring Punakha, guests will return to COMO Uma Paro for an additional three nights to complete their journey. This luxury destination is a must-visit for any traveler, including Indonesian luxury travelers looking to experience the best that Bhutan has to offer.

As a luxury destination and the world’s only carbon-negative country, supported by the fact that 70% of Bhutan’s land is covered by forests, visitors will be mesmerized by the country’s unique pace and peaceful rhythms protected by the concept of “Gross Domestic Happiness” that guides the government and measures the collective well-being of the population.

Leaving Bhutan, visitors will leave with memories of adventure, relaxation and complete bliss, as well as a greater appreciation of the world and a longing to return to this beautiful, magical place soon.
