THE INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is preparing a mechanism to facilitate licensing of activities through a comprehensive and transparent digitalization scheme.
“What we are doing in the future is a licensing process with digitization. From the first stage to the end, we are really trying to go online to avoid various aspects related to face-to-face meetings,” said Tourism Ministry Deputy for Tourism Products and Activity Organizers Vincent Jemadu in Jakarta, Monday (02/13), 2023.
The government realizes that there are obstacles in managing licensing for organizing activities, especially related to time. The licensing process is one of the concerns of actors in the field of music and other activities because it is considered to take a long time.
Vincent explained that through this mechanism, the Ministry of Tourism is trying to make all licensing processes transparent.
He took the example of Singapore, which is able to issue licenses for one month before the activity takes place. Such a method is considered to be able to facilitate the actors and promoters of activities because they have sufficient time to prepare and promote their activities.
The Ministry of Tourism is coordinating with several parties to realize the digitalization scheme of licensing for this activity.
“We are coordinating and receiving input from various cross-departments on how this digitalization system can really be comprehensive. In fact, we have also received input that a license that is macro in nature must be inclusive,” he explained.
Thus, said Vincent, the licensing process will be integrated with other elements, such as for exhibitions, so that promoters do not need to bother taking care of them one by one.
Several large-scale activities, such as music concerts, have taken place in Jakarta since the government lifted the Restriction on Community Activities (PPKM) at the end of 2022. On February 4 alone, there were at least three major events held in Jakarta, namely the Dewa 19, EXO-SC and ITZY music concerts. [antaranews/photo special]
