LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR 2024 SUCCESSOR: SPECIAL EDITIONS THAT’S WE KNOW

THE LAMBORGHINI Aventador had a heyday of 11 years. The company has sold over 11,000 units in that time, including some special editions like the Aventador J and some high-performance variants like the SVJ that each helped keep the iconic supercar fresh for over a decade.

Now this is the end of it all. The Aventador Ultimate marks the departure of this supercar and a new and improved replacement is on the way. In fact, Lamborghini has confirmed that the Aventador replacement will make its debut in just a few weeks. Until then, we’re here to answer all the questions you might have about the upcoming Lambo.

How Does It Look? Either way, the Aventador successor should look gorgeous. The spyshot photos show familiar shapes and lights similar to the previous Aventador, with hints of limited production models like the Sian FKP 37 and Terzo Millennio hidden within its DNA.

The patent images give a clearer picture of what the new Lambo will look like. More aggressive LED lights line the front and two angular creases accentuate the hood line. The rear has similarly angular lights with two large center-mounted exhaust tips protruding from the bumper.

We asked our rendering artists to help bring these spy photos and patent drawings to life. The renderings you see here help give a more accurate idea of what the new Lamborghini will look like when it goes into production.

There’s not much to see of the interior, other than a few spy shots from a distance, but it’s clear to see that there will be a new design inside the cabin.

The images show a free-standing digital display right in front of the driver, but there is no second screen in the center of the dashboard. There is a V-shaped design above the dashboard that most likely provides some HVAC functions.

What’s the Name? Lamborghini hasn’t revealed what the new supercar will be called, but there are rumors that it will be called “Revuelto.” This name was registered as a trademark in early 2022, but it doesn’t follow Lamborghini’s traditional naming structure. “Revuelto” loosely translates to “scrambled.”

What’s Under the Hood? The good news is that the V12 engine is almost certainly here to stay. The bad news – for some – is that it will be hybridized. The Invencible and the Autentica are the last of Lamborghini’s two V12-powered vehicles as the company moves to hybrid and eventually electric power. Lamborghini plans to have a fully electric vehicle lineup by 2024.

The Aventador’s replacement will not be fully electric yet, but will have some hybrid-assisted version paired with a different V12 engine to the one in the Aventador. The 6.5-liter capacity is expected to remain the same, but the rumor is that it will use a plug-in powertrain with two electric motors providing additional power.

With the Ferrari SF90 on the horizon, this Aventador replacement could produce over 1,000 horsepower at maximum lean. That means it will be able to reach 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in less than 2.5 seconds and continue to accelerate to a top speed of over 200 mph (321 km/h).

How much does it cost? The Aventador Ultimae currently costs just a little over US$498,000 (IDR7.58 billion). Granted, this is the last version of the current Aventador, but don’t be surprised to see more expensive replacements.

Another good benchmark is the Ferrari SF90, which starts at just over US$516,000 for 2023. So, Lambo’s new supercar probably won’t be too far from that price.

When will it be released? The successor to the Lamborghini Aventador is scheduled to make its debut before the end of March. It will arrive as a 2024 model and go on sale before the end of the year. [sources/photo special]
