PHILIPPINE Airlines officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Traveloka to provide services that meet the needs of travelers. The signing was done by Captain Stanley K. Ng, President & COO of Philippine Airlines, and Iko Putera, CEO of Transport Traveloka in Manila, Tuesday (28/2).
“Philippine Airlines is always committed to providing convenience and comfort for consumers who are always the top priority. We are pleased to collaborate with Traveloka, which will strengthen our relationship with the global market,” he said.
Captain Stanley explained Philippine Airlines has always given top priority in establishing, maintaining and growing direct air links to countries in the Southeast Asian region and beyond, which means reaching travelers living all over the world.
“Our hope in establishing this partnership is to open up new travel options for our customers to fly with Philippine Airlines to various scenic destinations across the Philippines, and also to various international destinations,” he remarked.
The Philippines, he continued is one of the tourist destinations in Southeast Asia that has opened its borders to foreign travelers. The island nation is known for its popular destinations, such as Boracay and Cebu, to the up-and-coming destinations of Siargao, El Nido, Coron, and Balabac Islands.
He added, Philippine Airlines’ collaboration with Traveloka provides travelers with a variety of options and flexibility to enjoy and explore more personalized and unique tourist destinations in the Philippines. We hope this partnership will contribute positively to the recovery of tourism in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, Iko Putera said that post-pandemic, people’s enthusiasm for business travel and tourism is increasing, along with the return of consumer confidence to travel.
One of the countries experiencing travel recovery is the Philippines. Based on Traveloka’s internal data throughout 2021-2022, the number of visitors coming to the Philippines from Southeast Asian countries increased by eight times. The number of passengers using Philippine Airlines flights to various international destinations has almost doubled.
“Since 2015, Traveloka has expanded to six countries in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines. Our presence in the Philippines is a manifestation of our commitment in providing services that focus on the needs of increasingly dynamic consumers. In addition, providing ease of access through the adoption of technology that can be used to fulfill the travel aspirations of consumers in Southeast Asia,” Iko noted.
