RI’S PARTICIPATION IN MATTA FAIR CREATES TRANSACTION UP TO IDR5.3 BILLION

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy revealed that Indonesia’s (RI) participation in the Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agent (MATTA) Fair 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, succeeded in creating potential transactions of up to IDR53 billion.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in “The Weekly Press Briefing” at the Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Monday (03/20), 2023, said, in the activity which was held on March 17-19, 2023, Tourism Ministry invited 20 sellers to fill the “Indonesian Pavilion” with the theme of five super priority tourism destinations.

“Today (MATTA Fair) is closed with a sales mission where the last figure (achievement) reached a potential visit of 1,351 pax with a transaction value of IDR5.3 billion and this is still growing,” he said

Sandiaga revealed that this figure is expected to continue to grow. Hopefully the number of Malaysian tourist visits to Indonesia will increase considering that Malaysia is one of the main markets for Indonesian tourism.

On the same occasion, Sandiaga also responded to the threat received by the band Radja when performing in Malaysia some time ago.

He explained that the Ministry of Tourism supports the protection efforts provided by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), the Consulate General in Johor, and the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to the Radja band and all creative economy actors from Indonesia who display their work abroad.

“We make sure the government is present to provide the best protection and we make sure that all of our ecraf actors who are active abroad can carry out their activities safely, comfortably, and pleasantly and we must protect every creative result of ecraf actors,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
