THE MINISTRY of Transportation announced that 13 airlines with a total of 412 aircraft are ready to serve Lebaran (Eid) homecoming transportation in 2023. Lion Air Group is still the airline company that prepares the most air transportation.
According to Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation of the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, M Mauludin said, a total of 412 fleets will serve domestic, international and pioneer flight routes during the homecoming season.
“The flight operators have prepared 412 aircraft not only for Eid, but during the Eid homecoming period, both small and large aircraft,” Mauludin said in a press conference session at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Jakarta, recently.
Launching the Ministry of Transportation’s records, airlines that are ready to fly during Lebaran homecoming 2023 include Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Lion Air, Batik Air, Wings Air, Super Air Jet, and Sriwijaya Air. Then, there are NAM Air, Pelita Air, Trans Nusa, Susi Air, Trigana Air, and AirAsia Indonesia.
Of the total 412 aircraft, 112 of them are still in maintenance status. Lion Air is recorded as preparing the largest number of fleets. A total of 110 aircraft are ready to fly, with 24 of them still undergoing maintenance.
Followed by Batik Air, which is still a member of the Lion Air Group, with 63 aircraft ready for operation and 5 maintenance. Then Garuda Indonesia with 54 aircraft ready to fly and 17 others maintenance.
Another Lion Air Group member airline, Wings Air also contributed 50 aircraft ready for homecoming and 21 others maintenance. There is also Super Air Jet, with 45 aircraft and 5 in the maintenance process.
Meanwhile, Citilink, which is under the auspices of the Garuda Indonesia Group, has prepared 48 aircraft and 11 fleets that are still in the maintenance process.
According to the Ministry of Transportation’s records, there are only three airlines without maintenance that are ready to fly during the homecoming season. These include Susi Air with 25 aircraft, Pelita Air with 5 aircraft, and Transnusa with 4 aircraft. [sources/photo special]
