AIRASIA will open direct flights from Jakarta to Perth round-trip (RT) starting June 2, 2023. AirAsia flight tickets for the Jakarta-Perth round-trip (RT) route can be purchased since yesterday, Thursday (03/30), 2023 at a price of IDR 1.2 million or 179 Australian dollars.
According to Indonesia AirAsia President Director Veranita Yosephine, in a written statement, Friday (03/31), 2023 said this is the first time Indonesia AirAsia has flown on this route. Thank you to our tourism and airport partners who have helped make this new destination a reality.
He revealed, the new Jakarta-Perth route is expected to be very popular for travelers who want to see more about Indonesia. As well as for those who want to visit Perth and Western Australia for business, leisure, study, and visiting friends or family. The new Jakarta-Perth route will utilize an A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.
AirAsia schedule for Jakarta-Perth round-trip (RT) route
For the initial phase of direct flights, AirAsia will serve four times a week. It is expected that this route can send more than 1,400 passengers each week through Perth and Jakarta Airports.
The following is AirAsia’s schedule for the Jakarta-Perth route: (1). Jakarta-Perth, using aircraft number QZ 532, departs Jakarta at 6:05 pm and arrives in Perth at 11:20 pm local time. Departs four times a week. (2). Perth-Jakarta, using aircraft number QZ 533, departing Perth at 00.15 local time and arriving in Jakarta at 04.00 WIB. Departs four times a week.
Improve connectivity between the two regions
AirAsia’s new route is supported by the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia (TWA) and Perth Airport.
Launching its official press release, the new route was announced on Thursday (3/30/2023) in a ceremonial event in Perth, Australia attended by representatives from TWA, Perth Airport, Indonesia AirAsia, and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. AirAsia is now the only airline flying the route between Jakarta and Perth post-pandemic.
Vera explained that with great support from Tourism West Australia and Perth Airport, he was confident that the new flight connecting the Indonesian capital with Western Australia would be very popular.
“Especially because from Jakarta Australians can also fly to many very popular tourist destinations and other hidden destinations throughout Indonesia, such as Lake Toba, Labuan Bajo, and the newest destination Lampung Province in Sumatra,” she said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism of Western Australia, Hon. Roger Cook MLA, said the launch of the AirAsia flight cemented Perth’s reputation as the western gateway to Australia.
“Having a direct link with Jakarta will encourage visitors from Indonesia’s priority markets to Western Australia, to explore our beautiful state and engage with our outstanding tourism industry. In addition, this new route can create jobs for Western Australians,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Perth, Listiana Operananta, also emphasized the importance of the new Jakarta-Perth round-trip (RT) route.
