BPOLBF ENSURES NO CLOSURE OF TOURISM ACTIVITIES DURING ASEAN SUMMIT

THE LABUAN Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) ensures that there will be no closure of tourist activities during the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, May 9-11, 2023.

“There is no closure of tourist activities, it is carried out as usual,” said BPOLBF President Director Shana Fatina, in Labuan Bajo, Tuesday (04/04).

The organization of the 42nd ASEAN Summit or ASEAN Summit 2023 will take place for three days in Labuan Bajo. BPOLBF estimates that the total delegates attending the event could reach 1,000 people, the national committee 300-500 people, and security personnel 1,300 people.

Although the activity lasted for three days and approximately 3,000 people were milling around in Labuan Bajo, Shana guaranteed that there would be no closure of tourist activities so that tourists could still visit Labuan Bajo.

However, she said there were several locations that experienced conditioning, because they were the location or venue of activities such as Meruorah Labuan Bajo Hotel, Ayana Labuan Bajo Hotel, and Puncak Waringin.

“It is carried out as usual, the difference is that it is a bit jammed, there is conditioning at Meruorah, Ayana, and Puncak Waringin because those are the main locations,” she explained.

Shana said the people in charge of the event were the Ministry of State Secretariat and Ministry of Foreign Affairs who formed the national committee, and BPOLBF as the local committee who also helped smooth things out in the regions.

She hopes that tourists can still carry out tourist activities as usual both in the city, at the port, and at existing tourist destinations.

Shana also invited all parties to maintain the privacy of the guests by not taking photos without permission. Then, she asked that interactions or discussions be carried out only as necessary because not all guests like to chat.

“We as hosts must use this momentum to show the best service, offer the best products,” Shana concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
