PELITA AIR ADDS THREE NEW ROUTES PALEMBANG, PADANG AND PEKANBARU

A SUBSIDIARY of state-owned enterprise (SOE) Pertamina, PT Pelita Air Service (Pelita Air), officially announced three new flight routes with destinations Palembang, Padang, and Pekanbaru. With the addition of these three routes, Pelita Air now has a total of seven routes after previously serving Balikpapan, Bali, Surabaya and Yogyakarta destinations.

“According to our analysis, demand in Indonesia is currently good. But with our capacity, we choose to open priority scales. Yesterday it was tourist areas, now we are targeting three destinations on the island of Sumatra,” said Pelita Air President Director Dendy Kurniawan, revealing the reasons for opening the three new routes when met in Jakarta, Monday.

The three new routes, namely Jakarta-Padang, Jakarta-Palembang, and Jakarta-Pekanbaru, will start operating on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. The Jakarta-Palembang route will be available every day with ticket prices starting from IDR849,000.

Furthermore, the Jakarta-Padang route will also be available every day with ticket prices starting from IDR1,399,000. Finally, the Jakarta-Pekanbaru route will be available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Tickets for this route are priced starting from IDR1,349,000.

People who are interested in trying Pelita Air services for the three new routes can buy tickets through the Pelita Air application on their smartphones, online through the website www.pelita-air.com, and through Online Travel Agency (OTA) services such as Tiket.com to Traveloka.

With the addition of these new routes, Pelita Air has further strengthened one of its business pillars to serve scheduled commercial flights. In one year of operation since April 2022, Pelita Air revealed that it has a service capacity of 18,720 seats with 104 flights every week.

From initially having only three aircraft, it was noted that in the first quarter of 2023 there were already five aircraft and will continue to grow to ten aircraft in the second quarter of 2023.
