IHG HOTELS & RESORTS AND MAYAPADA GROUP JOIN FORCES FOR BALI HOSPITALITY

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal for two properties with Mayapada Group, doubling the two companies’ strategic partnership to four hotels in Bali.

The collaboration will introduce voco hotels, IHG’s fastest-growing premium brand, to Indonesia, with voco Bali Seminyak opening in 2024, as well as opening a second Holiday Inn Express on the island, following the conversion of an existing building into Holiday Inn Express Bali Sunset Road.

The move by IHG, which has more than 6,000 hotels in over 100 countries, with Mayapada Group, owner of financial services, media, retail and real estate businesses, follows the opening of their latest properties with InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort and Holiday Inn Bali Sanur.

According to Patrick Finn, Vice President, Development, South East Asia & Korea, IHG said IHG has been present in Indonesia since 1995 and has developed specialized resources and capabilities that offer our teams a unique understanding of the market, both from a domestic and international perspective.

“Our agreement with Mayapada Group complements our existing properties and allows us to strengthen our market-leading presence in this key destination where we have seven operating hotels and four properties under construction,” he said.

Finn explained that we want to offer something for every visitor, whether they stay at one of our hotels for leisure or business, or a combination of both. We share the same commitment to developing best-in-class, high-quality properties and experiences, and are delighted to introduce voco Bali Seminyak – the first voco property in Indonesia and a perfect fit for Seminyak with its bold and captivating natural setting – and Holiday Inn Express Sunset Road, which will support simple and smart travel for people on the go.

Meawhile Victoria Tahir, President Director, Mayapada Hospitality added, Bali is one of the world’s top tourist destinations where demand is again strengthening as travelers look to re-explore its unique beauty and magic.

“In partnership with IHG, we create memorable stay experiences, and are delighted to expand our relationship across the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and voco brands with the signing of voco Bali Seminyak and Holiday Inn Express Bali Sunset Road,” said Victoria Tahir.

She added, IHG has proven to be a strong strategic partner for Mayapada Group, especially during the pandemic when IHG showed great agility in providing solutions that fit the needs of our properties. Having seen the success of IHG’s cluster operating model in various markets, we are keen to adapt it for our four properties in Bali to maximize performance and achieve sustainable growth.

Having celebrated over 100 properties signed and opened, voco hotels, IHG’s premium brand is growing at a phenomenal pace worldwide and achieving high levels of guest satisfaction. Notable openings this year will include voco Paris Porte De Clichy in the French capital, the brand’s debut in Japan with voco Osaka Central, as well as the introduction of the hotel in Vietnam through voco Ma Belle Danang.

“The new 162-room Voco Bali Seminyak will be built with the brand ethos of sustainability, and designed to differentiate itself by offering guests a welcoming, flexible and charming experience, inspired by voco’s three brand hallmarks – ‘come on in’, ‘me time’ and ‘voco life’,” Victoria Tahir concluded.
