PANAMA, GUATEMALA, AND MACAU ADDED TO LIST OF VoA SUBJECT COUNTRIES

PANAMA, Guatemala, and Macau have been officially added to the list of countries subject to visa on arrival, known as Visa on Arrival (VoA).

According to the Public Relations Subcoordinator of the Directorate General of Immigration, Achmad Nur Saleh through a written statement on Wednesday (4/26), 2023 said that the determination of the three was through Circular Letter Number IMI-0133.GR.01.01 of 2023. So that now there are 92 subject countries (Visa on Arrival).

Previously, the Directorate General of Immigration added Kenya and Rwanda to the list of VoA subject countries in February 2023. The addition of VoA subject countries, said Achmad, was carried out in order to support sustainable tourism and facilitate community economic development.

He explained that foreign tourists subject to VoA can apply for a visa in two ways, namely online (e-VoA) through the website molina.immigration.go.id or directly upon arrival at the airport/port arrival area in Indonesia.

“Foreign tourists can apply for an Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) through molina immigration.go.id before leaving for Indonesia,” he said.

“The e-VoA application does not require a guarantor and payment can be made using a credit/debit card with a visa, mastercard or JCB logo,” he explained.

When arriving at the airport or port in Indonesia, he continued, foreigners only need to show the e-VoA document on the device. Afterward, the officer will conduct biometric recording and provide a visit stay permit sticker on the foreigner’s passport.

VoA and e-VoA can be used by foreigners for tourist visits, government duty visits, business talks visits, visits to purchase goods, meeting visits and transit. VoA is valid for 30 days from the time the foreigner enters Indonesian territory and can be extended once, but cannot be transferred to another type of residence permit.

“E-VOA can be used to enter Indonesian territory for a maximum of 90 days after the date of issuance. Meanwhile, the calculation of the 30-day validity period begins when the foreigner enters the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) in Indonesia,” Achmad concluded. [sources/photo special]
