THE AIRLINE Garuda Indonesia again presents convenience for travelers who want to travel to various destinations abroad. As of May 17 2023, Garuda Indonesia presents a direct flight service from Jakarta-Shanghai round-trip route.
According to Garuda Indonesia Main Director Irfan Setiaputra said, Garuda Indonesia opening the flight route is the airline’s commitment to support the tourism sector, by encouraging an increase in foreign tourist visits to Indonesia.
“China is a very potential market share for Garuda Indonesia. With the projected number of foreign tourist arrivals from China to Indonesia that could reach 253 thousand tourists in 2023,” said Irfan, as quoted from his official statement, Wednesday (5/10).
The Shanghai-Jakarta round-trip route will later complement flights from China to Indonesia which have been operating since February 2023, namely Guangzhou-Jakarta round-trip.
“It is hoped that the operation of this flight service will not only provide a variety of flight options to various leading destinations in Indonesia, but also contribute to economic recovery in various national leading domestic destinations that are directly connected to Jakarta,” he added.
Flight Route Jakarta-Shanghai round-trip
The flight route connecting Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport will be served twice a week. The Jakarta-Shanghai flight will be served using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of up to 287 passengers.
The aircraft with flight number GA-895 is scheduled to depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 10.05 local time, and arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 15.20 WIB.
Meanwhile, for the opposite flight, the aircraft with flight number GA-894 is scheduled to depart from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 23.55 WIB, and is scheduled to arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 07.05 local time. Flight tickets on the Shanghai-Jakarta round-trip route are offered with prices starting from IDR6.6 million.
