NARAI Hospitality Group is delighted to announce the signing of an agreement to open the Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort. Once opened, the resort is slated to be a chic new beachfront destination on Phuket’s sunset coast, overlooking the Andaman Sea and surrounded by the pristine landscapes of Sirinat National Park.
Operated under a franchise agreement with Marriott International, this resort is expected to open in September 2023 following a major refurbishment. Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort will bring the brand’s European essence of savouring the good life to global tastemakers and locals, will be rebranded and reinterpreted in line with Le Méridien’s brand essence that is inspired by the era of glamorous travel.
Narai Hospitality is investing in significant upgrades, which will encompass every aspect of the guest experience, including plans to generate its own energy, with solar panels on the roofs of eight buildings, helping to reduce the resort’s CO2 emissions by 370 tons.
“Le Méridien has a long history in Thailand and a proven track record of creating one-of-a-kind experiences. Its cosmopolitan, culturally-immersive brand is ideally suited to the kingdom, which has a rich heritage. Our reimagined resort will provide the ideal option for families, friends and frequent weekenders who love to escape from the city and make fresh discoveries,” stated Khun Nithida Nithivasin of Narai Hospitality Group.
The resort is expected to feature a total of 244 bright and inviting rooms and suites, ranging from 40 to 110 square metres in size and designed in a contemporary local style, with a balcony or terrace in every room and views of the gardens, pool or sea. The resort also anticipates to introduce brand-new pool access rooms, private cabana rooms, two-bedroom suites and private pool suites.
Plans also call for the resort to feature an outdoor lagoon pool, a children’s fun pool, a kids’ club and plenty of outdoor activities. Providing guests with an inspiring mix of dining options are The Nook, set to be the resort’s casual café and Ocean Kitchen, a signature Mediterranean restaurant.
Famed for its crystal-clear waters and backdrop of lush greenery, Mai Khao Beach is a 13km-long stretch of golden sand which is home to plenty of local wildlife, including several species of turtle. Travelers can encounter nesting adult turtles and hatchlings all-year round.
Within this natural paradise, Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort is a haven of tranquillity, and yet it is also easily accessible, just 15 minutes’ drive from Phuket International Airport.
