MINISTRY SUPPORTS OF WFH PREVENTS INCREASING JAKARTA AIR POLLUTION

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo has instructed all ministries/agencies to take swift steps to intervene to improve air quality in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek). For short-term steps, what can be done is to encourage the implementation of work from home (WFH) in addition to weather engineering and increasing green open spaces.

One of them is the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy supporting the implementation of the work from home (WFH) policy within the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as an effort to reduce air pollution in Jakarta.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in his weekly press briefing at the Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Monday (8/14) 2023, said that recently air quality in Jakarta has shown poor quality which is supported by various factors. One of them is emission from motorized vehicles.

“We have announced that the Ministry of Tourism will move quickly to address this issue by giving instructions to employees at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to implement work from home,” said Sandiaga.

Apart from implementing the WFH system, he also urged employees at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to use public transportation when going to and from work at the office. I will also use public transportation and (exercise) run to work as an effort to reduce pollution in Indonesia.

In addition, Sandiaga encourages various parties to provide green open spaces and use environmentally friendly energy sources in tourist destinations in Indonesia.
