TO BUILD TWO PADDEL TENNIS COMPLEX, ITDC COLLABORATES WITH PT. IPP Tbk

THE INDONESIA Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is collaborating with PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk (PT. IPP Tbk.) to develop a tennis complex in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding was carried out for the plan to provision of Paddel Tennis Court Complex facilities in two locations, namely in The Nusa Dua, Bali and The Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

According to ITDC President Director, Ari Respati in a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/23), 2023 said that this collaboration is a big step in supporting the growth of the paddle player community, both in Indonesia and internationally, as well as providing a positive boost to the development of the tourism sector.

“This collaboration is also the beginning of a new story with a reputable property company. Through this initial step, ITDC also hopes to maintain the government’s mandate. As a first step, we developed an area of about 8,000 meters for padle tennis. In the future, we hope not only for tennis, but also for building an equestrian estate in Mandalika, as well as other facilities here,” said Ari.

He explained, this development is an integral part of ITDC’s plan to make The Nusa Dua and The Mandalika an attractive tourism destination for all tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists. With international standard padel facilities, of course it can add value to The Nusa Dua and The Mandalika areas as world class areas.

In collaboration with PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk (PT. IPP Tbk.), Ari continued that ITDC provided the land only, while the development of the facilities was handed over to PT. IPP Tbk. With this partnership, ITDC also hopes to make Mandalika a tourist destination with the sports and entertainment segments.

Ari added, his party would continue to develop the NTB region, especially Lombok, to rise from the difficult post-pandemic position. According to him, compared to other regions, the NTB region is experiencing a backward condition in post-COVID-19 economic recovery. The government’s goal of making Mandalika a tourism location is the right decision.

Meanwhile the President Director of PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk, Anthony Prabowo Susilo said the plan, the initial management of this tennis complex area will start around 6 months to 8 months ahead.

However, when asked about investment, Anthony did not provide clear numbers. He described as an initial providing an investment value of US$1 million to US$2 million.

“For paddle tennis it will be around US$1 million to US$2 million. Our target is to make a place where people can return to that location so that in the future the construction will certainly develop even more, it could be in the form of a shopping center, up to a high rise depending on the ecosystem later,” he remarked.

Anthony projects, later in one day it can bring in 100 to 200 visitor traffic depending on how the ecosystem is built later. Paradise Indonesia continues to support the development of tourism destinations throughout the archipelago, in line with the programs and initiatives launched by the Government.

“We view this collaboration as highly relevant to our portfolio and commitment to our mission to develop iconic lifestyle destinations that shape people’s social interactions and enrich communities,” he noted.

However, Ari added, regarding the terms of profit, both parties will again determine the agreement. He emphasized that ITDC will continue to actively invite potential partners in the development of Mandalika.

“We also thank all parties involved in this process, including local governments, business partners and all individuals who have supported this discourse to become a reality. This collaboration is a concrete example of how the private sector can contribute to advancing sports and tourism in Indonesia in particular,” Ari concluded. [traveltext.id]
