TOYOTA HAS RELEASED CENTURY SUV VERSION WITH LEXUS TX ENGINE

TOYOTA is reportedly developing an SUV version of the Century. According to information, the luxury car will be equipped with a Lexus TX engine. Previously, it was stated that this premium SUV would rely on a 4-cylinder engine. However, the latest news states that the engine that will be used is a 3.5 L, V6, with plug-in hybrid technology (PHEV).

Quoted from Carscoops.com, Saturday (8/26), 2023, the Century SUV will be built using the TNHGA-K platform. The platform is used to build the Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, Highlander, and the Lexus LM and TX.

The 3.5 L V6 engine is claimed to be able to generate power of 406 Tk. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission system. Century SUV will be sold exclusively with a two-row passenger configuration. The long wheelbase and high roof give an impact on the spacious cabin, thus maximizing occupant comfort.

Regarding the price, it is most likely in the range of 15 million Japanese yen or the equivalent of IDR1.6 billion. The Century sedan is still more expensive, starting at 20 million Japanese yen, or around IDR2.1 billion. The Toyota Century SUV is believed to be introduced to the public at the end of 2023 and will be marketed globally later. [sources/photo special]
