TWO INDONESIAN AIRLINES ARE RANKED WORST AIRLINES 2023 IN THE WORLD

BOUNCE, a baggage storage platform, updated its airline index to reveal the best and worst international airlines in 2023. Among the list of worst airlines, two airlines from Indonesia are at the top. Both are Wings Air and Lion Air which are both under the parent company Lion Air Group.

Reporting from Time Out, Bounce evaluates everything from in-flight catering to the number of on-time arrivals. Wings Air, which has a very low index score, is only 0.37 out of 10.

According to Bounce’s records, this airline has the lowest on-time arrival rate of 47.69 percent, and the second highest cancellation rate of 15.91 percent after Lion Air. This means that flying with Wing Air is risky if you have a busy schedule or have to make a connecting flight.

Additionally, Wings Air does not offer free checked bags to economy class passengers. In-flight food and entertainment only gets a score of 1 out of 5. For seat comfort, this airline gets a score of 3 out of 5, while in-flight staff service gets a score of 2 out of 5.

The second worst according to Bounce is Lion Air. With a score of only 0.61, less than half of the flights operated by Lion Air arrived on time, while 20.01 percent of flights were canceled, throwing travelers’ plans into disarray.

However, Lion Air is one of the few low-cost airlines that includes checked baggage on some of its economy class tickets. Passengers on domestic flights can carry one bag weighing up to 20kg.

Based in Jakarta, Lion Air is Indonesia’s largest airline and flies to more than 36 destinations in Southeast Asia, including Kuala Lumpur, Denpasar and Ho Chi Minh City.

The next worst airlines were Jetstar Airways, flydubai, VivaAerobus, Wizz Air, Ryanair, WestJet, Vueling Airlines and Air Canada.

Bounce also made the list of best airlines. The top ten airlines include Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Korean Air, Vistara, All Nippon Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Air India, Azul Airlines and Emirates, Vietnam Airlines. [sources/photo special]
