THE WORLD TOURISM NETWORK SUMMIT 2023 TO EXPAND BALI’S MICE SECTOR

IN AN effort to strengthen the position of Bali in particular and Indonesia in general as a world-class MICE location, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy fully supports the holding of the 2023 World Tourism Network (WTN) Summit on 28 September-October, 1, 2023 at the Renaissance Uluwatu Resort and Spa, Bali, which It is hoped that it can increase the activity of Indonesia’s MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition) sector, especially in Bali.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in The Weekly Press Briefing which was held in a hybrid manner at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, Monday (9/11), 2023, said that the 2023 WTN Summit would be an international meeting space for tourism sector stakeholders to determine the direction of future tourism development with the theme ‘SMEs Role in World Tourism’.

“This meeting will give birth to a number of concrete collaborations between domestic tourism actors and international tourism actors through a series of cooperative commitments. It is projected that there will be 200-250 participants from 133 WTN network countries such as the United States, Jamaica, Canada, Montenegro, Malta and Turkey attending WTN 2023,” said Sandiaga.

He explained that therefore, let’s support WTN together because this is the next big MICE activity that we will offer to the world after the success of the ASEAN Summit and the World Islamic Entrepreneur Summit. We will continue to promote MICE with the WTN World Tourism Network Summit. Hopefully this can be an attraction for us in the future.

“The 2023 WTN Summit, initiated by the World Tourism Network and fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and in collaboration with various organizations, such as the Bali Tourism Board and BPPD Bali, has a series of agendas, including trade exhibitions, seminars, discussion forums, networking forums, investment forums, awards awards, to the delivery of a joint declaration and post-tour program,” he concluded.

The focus of the discussion is Exploring The World Major Market: Inbound & Outbound; Medical, Health and Wellness Exchange; Asia Investment and Resilience Tourism; and International Climate and Tourism Partners. [traveltext.id]
