LUFTHANSA, the German airline, has announced its plans to expand its Dreamliner route to include a new destination in India. The airline will operate flights between Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) and Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) starting from early next year.
This move is part of Lufthansa’s efforts to enhance its route network and cater to the growing demand for travel to and from India.
After recently unveiling daily flights to Bangkok and Los Angeles using the Airbus A380, Lufthansa has now revealed further details about another destination in India: Hyderabad. Lufthansa last served the capital of the southern Indian state of Telangana in 2011, and it is set to make a comeback on January 16, 2024, with three weekly flights.
Hyderabad, known for its technological and cultural significance, will become Lufthansa’s fifth Indian destination in 2024. Despite previous announcements about the reactivation of old A380 aircraft to meet the increasing passenger demand on popular routes, the fifth India route, as of current knowledge, will be served by Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
This modern aircraft model offers seating for 26 passengers in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy Class, and 247 in Economy Class. Alongside existing flights from Frankfurt to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, Hyderabad will join the list as Lufthansa’s fifth Indian destination in 2024. There are also speculations about Lufthansa’s potential utilization of the Airbus A380 for future flights to India. [sources/photo special]
