MINISTRY PRIORITIZING BUILDING HOSPITALITY CULTURE AT AIRPORTS

TOURISM and Creative Economy Ministry is prioritizing hospitality culture at airports to make a good first impression on travelers entering Indonesia.

According to Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Sandiaga Uno while responding to the results of a survey by AirHelp Organization, in Jakarta on Wednesday (12/27), 2023 said tourists get the first impression at the airport, and we have to make sure that at airports, we apply Indonesian hospitality.

“AirHelp Organization’s survey and news outlets have revealed that three Indonesian airports have been named among the ten worst in the world. The three airports are Syamsuddin Noor Banjarmasin Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Jakarta, and Ngurah Rai Airport Bali,” he said.

Sandiaga explained that I have read the news and it will serve as material for an evaluation for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

He informed that he has conducted hospitality training for airport officers, both those in the immigration department as well as porters who help tourists carry goods, to ensure good airport services. Building hospitality at airports is not only a service, but also an investment in a country’s tourism attractiveness.

“Because most tourists are not only seeking natural beauty, but they also want to know how important hospitality is in Indonesia,” he remarked.

Therefore, he requested that good service and a pleasant atmosphere with a culture of hospitality be created, especially at airports that are entrance points for foreign tourists.

“The most important are the three main doors of tourists to Indonesia, namely Ngurah Rai Bali Airport, Soekarno Hatta, and also many who enter through the Batam and Riau Islands doors. So, those are our main points to improve hospitality and service quality,” Sandiaga concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
