AS A FORM of concern for Individuals with Special Needs, in this case people with autism/down syndrome and in commemoration of road 8th Anniversary of Vasaka Hotel Jakarta in collaboration with MATALESOGE HospitABLElity Academy held a one-day training at Vasaka Hotel Jakarta on Wednesday (03/01), 2024.
With the theme “Making the Invisible Visible” empowering abilities breaking barriers, this activity has a series of events consisting of Front Office material sharing, hotel tours, front office role plays, painting exhibitions, and the event became even more lively with musical performances which aim to provide education related to Empowering Abilities and Skills for Individuals with Special Needs.
The event, which took place from 10.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB, began with remarks from the General Manager of Vasaka Hotel, Nancy Fenyapwain and Tommy Hermanses, founder of MATALESOGE Special Needs Center and also celebrated with the painting exhibition curated by Safrie Effendi, displayed several works of art from individuals with special needs consisting of Diego Luister Berel, Tengku Omar Athalla, Amanda Safira, Farah Dilla Fahira and Callista at the lobby hotel.
According to Nancy Fenyapwain, said we held this activity as part of our hotel’s CSR program in carrying out the ESG (Environment, Social, Good Governance) program launched by the company since the beginning of 2016, where we collaborated with MATALESOGE HospitABLElity Academy to show our concern for individuals with needs, specifically by making our hotel chain a friendly hotel for Individuals with Special Needs, and also providing a place for them to hone their skills and social skills.
“With the series of activities carried out today, we hope to provide inspiration to the community so that they can live side by side with individuals with special needs, as well as providing equal opportunities to work and achieve. We don’t forget to thank the Indonesian Autism Foundation for providing support for this event,” she said.
Meanwhile, Tommy Hermanses, Founder of MATALESOGE Special Needs Services, added that empowerment is a pure value that must be ‘transmitted’ through forums and communities that have the same humanitarian vision. Every individual, community or institution that cares about inclusivity will always join hands to provide equal opportunities.
