THE INDONESIA Fashion Chamber (IFC) combines traditional Indonesian wastra or fabric with the rapid digital world in ultra-modern fashion silhouettes that can still be used in everyday life, under the theme “Cyber-Xotic” for the Jakarta Fashion Trend (JFT) 2024 show.
“So, merging digitalization with the beauty of Indonesian literature or culture. Because of the total look, the outift has leather, there are accessories,” said Local Chair Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) Jakarta Erika Ardianto at the “Jakarta Fashion Trend 2024” press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday (01/24), 2024.
The theme “Cyber-Xotic” comes from two words, namely cyber and xotic which comes from the word exotic or exotic.
Erika said that JFT this time presented a fashion parade by 51 designers, namely 15 conventional fashion designers, 8 Sharia fashion designers, 4 children’s designers, from various cities including Jakarta, D.I. Yogyakarta, Kediri, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Buton, as well as brands. The participating fashion designers include Hannie Hananto, Putri Anjani, Monika Jufry and OPIE OVIE.
The fashion collections displayed also have various styles ranging from contemporary ethnic wear, urban wear, party wear, kids wear, modest wear, and Islamic Muslim fashion which combines the digital spirit with local content and still carries a sustainable spirit in various aspects.
“There are several slots, namely urban wear, party wear, syar’i and kids. We are open to designers from Jakarta to outside the region, but they have standards that we set. They must be in accordance with the “Cyber-Xotic” theme but presented with their own style each,” said Erika, who hopes to get the same signal for 2024 fashion trends through this performance.
On that occasion, fashion designer from IFC Ichwan Thoha and the initiator of the “Cyber-Xotic” theme said that fashion designers display traditional Indonesian fabrics or wastra to be implemented in a modern style, inspired by technology in the 90s. [antaranews]
