B2B TRANSACTIONS AT TRAVEX, ATF 2024 LAOS REACH A TARGET OF IDR41 BILLION

THE VALUE of business to business (B2B) transactions at the Wonderful Indonesia booth during TRAVEX (Travel Exchange), ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2024 reached IDR41 billion from the previously set target of IDR22 billion.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, when visiting TRAVEX at the Lao ITECC Exhibition Center, Laos, on Friday (01/26), 2024, said that the number of transactions at the Indonesian booth exceeded the set target.

“Thank God, we can bring home a very proud achievement. Because initially we didn’t have very high expectations, but it turned out that the results were optimal and exceeded the target by almost two times,” said Sandiaga.

TRAVEX (Travel Exchange) is part of a series of ATF 2024 events which will take place on 24-26 January 2024 which is a business to business (B2B) forum for tourism business actors between ASEAN countries, consisting of ASEAN NTOs, ASEAN Tourism Industries, Travel and Tourism Hospitality Industries, hotels & accommodation industries, TA/TO, and MICE players.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy brought 13 representatives from tour operators/travel agents to participate in Travex 2024. Where Borobudur as a Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) was chosen as the main theme and Candirejo Tourism Village as the main destination that will be offered to buyers.

“Travex 2024 is projected to be attended by around 700 to 1,000 visitors from various groups, including investors. “The enthusiasm of sellers and buyers is quite high, where the best tourism and creative economy products are presented,” he said.

He explained, the total achievement has been recorded with transactions amounting to more than IDR41 billion and 19,713 pax orders have been achieved. And we are very grateful that Indonesia’s achievements in ATF 2024 and TRAVEX were successful.

Furthermore, Sandiaga said that Indonesia’s participation in the 2024 ATF series was an important momentum for the Indonesian tourism industry to continue to progress.

“So, we are bringing this good news back to Indonesia, to continue to encourage us so that we can not only achieve the target of 14.3 million foreign tourist visits this year but exceed it significantly,” concluded Sandiaga. [traveltext.id]
