VIETJET OPENS HO CHI MINH CITY-CHENGDU ROUTE TO CHINA FOR ASIAN TOURISTS

VIETJET airline celebrates Chinese New Year 2024 by launching a direct flight route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) with Chengdu (China). The opening of this new route is expected to provide an attractive travel option for Asian tourists who are planning a spring holiday.

This step also further strengthens air connections between Vietnam and China, while encouraging the growth of trade and tourism in the region. The inauguration ceremony for the new route was held at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wei Huaxiang, as well as Vietjet Chief Operating Officer Michael Hickey. The two of them cordially welcomed passengers on the first flight on this route and expressed their wishes for Vietjet’s success in this auspicious year of the Dragon.

Flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Chengdu operate one round trip daily, with a total of seven flights per week and a travel time of just over four hours. Flights from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City will depart at 19.10 (local time) and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, Sichuan Province of China (TFU) at 00.15 the next day (local time).

In contrast, flights from Chengdu will depart at 00.50 (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 03.55 (local time). Indonesian tourists who plan to visit Chengdu, China, can choose to transit through Ho Chi Minh City before reaching Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU).

Located in southern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, is the country’s economic and transportation center. Visitors can explore iconic landmarks such as Ben Thanh Market, Central Post Office, and Independence Palace, among many others.

Tourists can also enjoy authentic Vietnamese culinary delights full of flavors such as Pho, Banh Mi, egg coffee, and various other typical Vietnamese dishes. Ho Chi Minh City is also the door to various interesting destinations such as Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Da Lat, and others, which can be reached within an hour’s flight thanks to Vietjet’s extensive network.

Furthermore, Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in Southwest China, is the main gateway connecting various major cities both in China and abroad. Chengdu is also famous as the home of Pandas and famous tourist locations such as Jiuzhaigou which is a UNESCO world heritage site.
