BALI ISLAND cannot be denied is one of the most popular tourist destinations among foreign tourists, especially those from developing countries.
However, based on Market Insights “Exploring the Anticipated Hospitality Industry in Indonesia for 2024”, released by Colliers Indonesia, it is stated that this year foreign tourists are starting to look for alternative destinations.
According to the Director of Hospitality Colliers Indonesia, Satria Wei, in 2023, regarding occupancy volume, Bali will still be the region with the highest hotel occupancy in Indonesia. After that, followed by the Yogyakarta area.
“In 2024, developing country markets will look for other tourist destinations such as Labuan Bajo, Lake Toba and various other attractive areas. The interest from foreign tourists was triggered by the completion of facilities and infrastructure in these areas,” he said.
Satria explained, for example, this year, there will be three hotels that have been completed and will begin operating in Labuan Bajo. In 2024, apart from depending on the domestic market, if there are direct flights from abroad to new tourist destinations it will contribute to hotel occupancy rates.
“Meanwhile, regarding room rates, it is estimated that they will remain stable not only throughout 2024 but also until 2026,” he concluded. [sources/photo special]
