THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy through the Wonderful Indonesia brand launched the “Wonderful Indonesia Co-Branding School Break 2024” activation program entitled Co-branding: Travel Responsibly to introduce green and sustainable tourism during school vacation.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno in “The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno” at Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, Monday (06/24), 2024, said that the “School Break” program offers educational tourism as an alternative choice during school holidays. This activity aims to provide tourists, especially young people, an educational experience on environmental impact and processing used products into something creative.

“And this is in four cities that we will visit in June-July, Jakarta AQuarium and Safari, Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung, HeHa Stone Valley Yogyakarta and Beachwalk Shopping Center Bali,” Sandiaga stated.

He added that this school vacation period is not only in Indonesia but also abroad, so it has the potential to become an alternative destination for foreign tourists visiting Indonesia. This activation involves 21 co-branding partners who collaborate as venue providers, product waste providers, waste management hub service providers, cargo service providers, game prize providers, and post-event upcyclers.

“The co-branding includes Jakarta AQuarium and Safari, Saung Angklung Udjo, HeHa Stone Valley, Beachwalk Shopping Center, Aice, Paxel, Dagadu Djokdja, Dama Kara, Bodypack, Pipiltin Cocoa, Finna Food, Lokalate, BEJO Ginger Merah, El Hotel “Group, AVO Group, Rumah Atsiri Indonesia, homLiv, Gofress, Grab, Pala Nusantara, and Bersinar Waste Bank,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, the Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, said that visitors to the event could see an upcycle installation exhibition of creative works of art made from used products from the business activities of co-branding partners.

“We also have a waste bank, we will also create installations with the collected waste, so we will be doing many activities together with co-branding partners,” Made said.

Aside from the upcycling installation exhibition, visitors can also learn about waste management and play games with prizes. This event is expected to inspire the creation of green and sustainable tourism for tourists.

Likewise, Paxel co-founder Zaldy Ilham Masita expressed his pleasure to support the Wonderfull Indonesia program, which is related to environmental sustainability issues.

“At Paxel, Paxel Recycle has been running for almost 3 years. Yesterday, we calculated that almost 9 million carbons could be handed over to the waste bank through a program in the form of taking used e-commerce packaging waste. So, we support this, we can prove that this circular economy can really work, because environmental problems are not only part of social problems, so business win-win can be circular,” Zaldy noted.

Furthermore National Marketing Communications Manager PT Sekar Laut Tbk. (Finna Food), Wenny Vianna, said there were many benefits after joining as a Wonderful Indonesia co-branding partner, one of which was the feeling of trust from the public.

“PT Sekar Laut Tbk. It’s probably been almost a decade since we joined Wonderful Indonesia. We have been displaying the Wonderful Indonesia logo and it has proven to be very effective because it also creates a sense of public trust from the Indonesian people to foreign countries. We have also been awarded as the best exporter several times, of course we bring the good name of WI,” Wenny concluded. [traveltext.id]
