HOSPITAL ASIA CONFERENCE AS INDONESIA’s A WORLD-CLASS MICE DESTINATION

THE HOLDING of “Hospital Management Asia Conference 2024” invites the delegates, mostly C-level and decision makers from various hospitals in Asia, to extend their stay and enjoy the beauty of Bali.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno when attending the Gala Dinner and Hospitality Management Award at BNDCC, Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (08/29), 2024 evening who appreciated the event said thank you for choosing Indonesia as the host of HMA Conference for the first time here, the beautiful island of Bali.

“Hospital Management Asia Conference” is an annual conference held in cooperation with Hospital Management Asia (HMA) and Indonesian Private Hospital Association (ARSSI) and for the first time Bali is the conference venue.

This conference also presents the Hospital Management Awards as an event that recognizes hospitals in Asia. This event for exchanging ideas and sharing the latest information in the field of healthcare services is themed “Keeping Pace with Healthcare Challenges” and will be held from August 27 to 30, 2024.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga said that this conference will strengthen Indonesia’s position as a world-class MICE destination. Meeting, Incentives, Convention & Exhibition (MICE) tourists are known to spend more than the average leisure tourist. It is estimated that MICE tourists spend approximately US$1,500 or IDR22.5 million per visit, excluding airfare and event registration fees.

Based on the results of the research conducted by Allied Market Research, MICE tourist spending is mainly on accommodation (65%), food and beverage needs at the destination (15%), shopping for souvenirs (10%) and local transportation costs (10%). This makes the MICE sector’s contribution to the national tourism industry reach 30%.

This conference is also expected to strengthen the development of health tourism in Indonesia. Currently, the Indonesian government is developing the Sanur Special Economic Zone (KEK), which is the first health KEK in Indonesia.

This KEK is expected to serve tourists, both domestic and foreign, to get wellness tourism in Bali. The KEK with an area of 41.26 hectares is predicted to be able to create about 60,000 to 80,000 new and quality jobs.

This KEK also provides other facilities such as hotels and MICE, Ethnomedicinal Botanic Garden, commercial center, convention hall, to wellness market retail area to support the industry in the area.

“The location is only about 20 minutes from Nusa Dua, we will make Sanur Special Economic Zone (KEK)  a world-class health tourism destination. So, we invite all private hospitals to directly see (KEK Sanur) as the right place to invest,” concluded Minister Sandiaga. [traveltext.id]
