LONG WEEKEND, BANDUNG AS FAVORITE DESTINATION FOR DOMESTIC TOURISTS

MORE and more tourists are planning domestic trips ahead of the Prophet’s Birthday. Digital travel platform Agoda recorded an 89% increase in domestic accommodation searches during this year’s Prophet’s Birthday holiday compared to last year.

Bandung is the most searched destination, followed by Yogyakarta, Bali, Jakarta and Malang. These destinations offer a variety of experiences, from the cultural richness of Yogyakarta and the urban life of Jakarta, to the beautiful scenery of Bandung, the tropical charm of Bali, and the historical charm of Malang.

According to Gede Gunawan, Senior Country Director Indonesia at Agoda, said the increase in accommodation searches during this long holiday period shows the enthusiasm of Indonesian tourists to explore and enjoy their time off.

“In a country as diverse as Indonesia, where each region has its own charm, this increase highlights the strong desire to explore and create unforgettable memories. Agoda’s wide range of accommodation options makes it easy for travelers to find and book their ideal accommodation, ensuring an unforgettable vacation experience,” he said.
