RUSSIA’s AEROFLOT INCREASES RUTES OF DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM MOSCOW TO BALI

RUSSIA’s Aeroflot will increase the frequency of direct flights from Moscow (SVO) to Denpasar, Bali (DPS) from two to three flights a week starting October 3.

In fact, the national airline of the Red Bear country will offer a direct route from Russia to Bali in September and October this year. This is the first time since the reopening of international borders after the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July this year, President-elect Prabowo Subianto also expressed his support for the launch of direct flights from Russia to Bali. “We are confident that Aeroflot can operate direct flights to Bali,” Prabowo said, Interfax reported.

Previously, the Aeroflot Group operated direct flights to Bali four years ago. In August 2020, these flights were temporarily suspended amid the pandemic and have not been resumed since.

In addition, Prabowo said, “We also support the possibility of Aeroflot not only operating direct flights, but also other airlines,” the Indonesian defense minister said during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin during his working visit to Moscow.

The purchase and transfer of aircraft from foreign to Russian registration will reduce the risk of restrictions on foreign flights. Aeroflot’s presentation showed that 185 of the 271 Boeing and Airbus aircraft in the company’s fleet have been “freed” from foreign registration.

As reported by Airwaysmag, the flights will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which can accommodate up to 316 passengers in a three-cabin configuration. According to airline analytics platform Cirium, the flight offers 28 seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 264 seats in Economy Class.

The outbound flight schedule (SU 296) will be operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The aircraft departs from Sheremetyevo Alexander S Pushkin International Airport (SVO) at 14:40 (local time) and is estimated to arrive at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport (DPS) at 08:05 the next morning (local time).

The return flight schedule (SU 297) will be operated from DPS on Wednesdays and Sundays. It departs at 10:05 (local time) and arrives at SVO on the same day at 17:55 (local time). [sources/photo special]
