SCOOT AIRLINES INCREASES FREQUENCY OF DOMESTIC AND INT’L FLIGHTS ROUTE

LOW-COST carrier (LCC) Scoot Airlines has announced that it will be increasing its flight frequency. Starting in November 2024, additional weekly flights will be offered to Chiang Mai, Thailand and Hanoi, Vietnam. Scoot will also increase frequencies to destinations served by Embraer E190-E2 aircraft such as Balikpapan and Makassar.

According to Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer, Calvin Chan, the additional flight times were made to meet increased demand, especially during the holiday and festive seasons. “We will continue to look for new opportunities and remain vigilant in deploying aircraft to meet demand,” Chan said in a written statement quoted on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

In addition, the increase in flight frequency was made in anticipation of greater demand during the winter season in the northern region. Weekly flights to Chiang Mai and Hanoi will increase from 10 to 11 times a week and five to six times a week, respectively. Meanwhile, Balikpapan and Makassar will increase from three to four flights per week.

From December 2024 the frequency to Perth, Australia will increase from 13 to 14 times per week. Flights to Melbourne will also increase from 12 to 13 times a week and to twice a day from January 2025.

In addition, management said, three weekly flights will be added to Seoul, South Korea, via Taipei, bringing the frequency to daily. Flights to Tokyo via Taipei will also increase from 12 to 14 times a week.

In South East Asia, Scoot will increase frequencies to destinations served by Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. These destinations include Davao in the Philippines, where frequencies will increase from seven to nine times a week.

Scoot is a subsidiary of leading airline Singapore Airlines. The airline recently launched daily flights to Subang Jaya in Malaysia on September 1 and Kertajati (Greater Bandung) in Indonesia on September 28. Scoot will launch flights to Malacca in Malaysia on October 23. [sources/photo special].
