THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy supports the implementation of “Indonesia International Culture Festival 2024”, which is expected to strengthen the promotion of Indonesian tourism and increase the number of tourist movements both domestically and internationally.
According to the Ministry’s Senior Expert Staff, Nia Niscaya in “The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno” at Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Monday (10/7), 2024, revealed that the “Indonesia International Culture Festival 2024” enters its third year and will be held from October 10 to 16, 2024 in Sasono Langen Budoyo (TMII) and Tugu Api (Ancol).
“Indonesia will host the ‘Indonesia International Culture Festival 2024’, this year with the theme ‘Through Culture We Become One’,” said Nia Niscaya.
Followed by 10 participating countries including Korea, Russia, Colombia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, Zimbabwe and Iran, this festival will present various performances. Starting from international cultural concerts, cultural performances, cultural exchanges (workshops), international dance competitions, cultural exhibitions, and others.
“‘Indonesia International Culture Festival 2024’ is expected to be a medium for establishing relations between countries in the fields of culture and friendship, and can be a forum for cultural promotion,” Nia stated.
Meanwhile, Color of Indonesia founder Vivi Sandra, as the organizer, hopes that this activity can make Jakarta a meeting place for international cultural actors.
“This event is expected to improve cultural relations between countries and also between communities in Indonesia itself. And further promote the spirit of the Republic of Indonesia because it reflects the diversity of Indonesia,” Vivi emphasized.
Vivi ensures that this event will be an interesting treat for tourists. He gave an example during the parade where each participant from 10 countries and three representatives of Indonesian provinces will showcase their unique cultures, a traditional dance competition involving thousands of dancers and the breaking of the Indonesian MURI Manortor record under the title Most Indonesian and Foreign Tor Tor Dancers, up to almost 5,000 people.
Likewise, the Director of National and International Events at the Tourism Ministry, ransiskus Handoko, appreciated IICF 2024 and was ready to cooperate by supporting the implementation of activities, especially in terms of strengthening promotions on the official channels of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and providing support for infrastructure.
