DEPUTY Tourism Minister, Ni Luh Puspa invited all Indonesian tourism stakeholders to welcome the new year 2025 as a momentum to strengthen collaboration to realize increasingly quality and sustainable tourism.
“This is a special moment that we have been waiting for together. Without realizing it, it is time for us to be ready to welcome new hopes in 2025,” said Ni Luh Puspa after attending the 2024-2025 New Year’s Eve celebration at Lagoi Bay, Bintan Resorts, Bintan, Riau Islands, Wednesday (1/1/2025).
The Deputy Minister of Tourism expressed his hope to realize the ideals of quality and sustainable Indonesian tourism.
Tourism that has a broad impact on the welfare of the community while maintaining the values of diversity, culture and local wisdom.
“This is also in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita mission to achieve inclusive economic growth, equitable development and conservation of nature and culture,” she said.
Several performance indicators of the tourism sector show positive growth throughout 2024. Among them, the contribution of tourism to GDP reached 4.01 percent in the first half of 2024. This figure exceeds the previous year’s contribution of 3.9%.
Meanwhile, for foreign tourist visits (wisman), the Central Statistics Office (BPS) noted that by October 2024, the number of foreign tourists had reached 11.6 million visits and is expected to continue to increase until December 2024. In fact, the number is expected to exceed the realization in 2023 of 11.7 million visits.
“The main goal of the Ministry of Tourism for 2025 has been set. The Ministry of Tourism can certainly not work alone, so we invite the active role of all parties to jointly welcome better tourism,” she affirmed.
The 2025 New Year’s Eve celebration at Lagoi Bay, Bintan Resort was lively. Titled “Binta Resorts Carnival”, the event, which featured a variety of food, music and fireworks attractions, was crowded with tourists.
Deputy Tourism Minister, Ni Luh Puspa appreciated the holding of this event as one of the tourist attractions, especially on New Year’s Eve, which is one of the potential movements of tourists, both local and foreign.
“I express my highest appreciation to the management of Bintan Resorts, especially Bintan Resort Cakrawala, for presenting the Bintan Resorts Carnival as a lively closing for 2024. Hopefully, Bintan and the Riau Islands will continue to be leading tourist destinations that inspire,” Ni Luh Puspa stated.
The Ministry of Tourism together with all stakeholders will continue to improve the development of Indonesia’s tourism attractions, including the organization of events.
Throughout 2024, the Ministry of Tourism supports the holding of various events, including 175 regional events (KEN and non-KEN), 101 national events, and 31 international events. In addition to promoting local economic growth, supporting the hosting of these events is also an effort to showcase and strengthen Indonesia’s image on the world stage.
