BBN INDONESIA LEASES 2 AIRCRAFT TO BANGLADESH’S US-BANGLA AIRLINES

PT BBN Airlines Indonesia’s Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) provider will lease two Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to Bangladesh’s US-Bangla Airlines from April 2025.

According to BBN Airlines Indonesia Chairman Martynas Grigas said, BBN Airlines Indonesia has signed a wet lease agreement with US-Bangla Airlines, one of the largest airlines in Bangladesh, to support its growing operational needs.

“This partnership is an important milestone in our expansion in the Asian market. US-Bangla Airlines will operate two BBN Airlines Indonesia Boeing 737-800NG aircraft based on the cooperation between the two airlines,” said Martynas, Friday (04/11) 2025.

He added that US-Bangla Airlines will operate two BBN Airlines Indonesia Boeing 737-800 aircraft based on cooperation between the two airlines. The first aircraft has been in service since April 1, 2025, while the second aircraft is scheduled to start operations in early May 2025.

Martynas explained that the two aircraft will be operated in an economic class configuration and will operate international flights from Dhaka to a number of destinations including the Middle East, Singapore, Thailand and the Maldives. All aircraft and crew will be based in Dhaka to facilitate integration into the US-Bangla Airlines network.

BBN Airlines Indonesia provides full ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services. This service includes the provision of aircraft, flight crew and experienced cabin crew, aircraft maintenance, and insurance coverage.

With this scheme, US-Bangla Airlines can continue to manage its network optimally without having to focus on technical operations.

According to Martynas, the entire operational preparation process is efficient and takes only about three to four weeks. In a short period of time, all operational components, from regulatory compliance to crew placement, are successfully prepared.

Although the crew is provided by BBN Airlines Indonesia, US-Bangla Airlines still sends a crew representative on each flight. The presence of this crew is intended to maintain the consistency of service experienced by passengers.

As an ACMI service provider, BBN Airlines Indonesia emphasizes its commitment to supporting the growth of the aviation industry in the Asia-Pacific region. The company provides a flexible, reliable and efficient capacity solution for partner airlines. [sources/photo special]
