UN TOURISM 37th JOINT COMMISSION MEETING CAP-CSA TO BE HELD IN INDONESIA

THE MINISTRY of Tourism has announced that Indonesia is ready to host the annual event entitled the 37th Joint Commission Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (CSA) at the Mulia Senayan Hotel in Jakarta on April 15-16, 2025.

According to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, said leaders and delegates from various countries will attend to discuss the future of global tourism, including recovery strategies, innovation and sustainable development.

“The event will also report on the implementation of the UN Tourism Programme in the East Asia and Pacific and South Asia regions. The meeting will also discuss the activities to be carried out by the Regional Commission in 2025 and the plan for 2026,” she said in an official statement in Jakarta, Friday (04/11), 2025.

Widiyanti added that the 37th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (CSA) is an annual regional meeting of UN Tourism, which is one of the most important meetings for the tourism sector in the East Asia-Pacific region.

“Hundreds of UN Tourism Members, UN Tourism Associate Members, international and regional organizations as well as world tourism experts will attend and are expected to be able to enhance the contribution of tourism both in terms of direct and indirect impacts on the community,” she affirmed.

The series of activities includes the 37th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (37th JCM); 60th Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (60th CSA); 56th Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (56th CAP); Networking Dinner; UN Tourism Regional Forum on Tourism Policy on Circular Economy.

The event will include a technical tour, inviting delegates to shop for creative micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) products in Sarinah and visit the National Museum.

“Therefore, as the host, Indonesia has a unique opportunity to showcase the beauty of its culture, leading destinations and sustainable tourism policies that continue to be developed. Therefore, cross-sectoral cooperation is needed to ensure the smooth running of this event,” Minister Widiyanti noted.

Widiyanti hopes that Indonesia will not only be a good host, but will also be able to show leadership in building a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable tourism. [traveltext.id]
