STARTING IN MAY 2025, ANA AND SIA WILL RUN REVENUE SHARING SCHEME

TWO major Asian airlines, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Singapore Airlines (SIA), will begin revenue-sharing flights between Japan and Singapore in September 2025. Joint fare products between the two airlines will be available from May 2025.

This collaboration strengthens the strategic partnership that the two airlines have been building since 2020. Through this new collaboration, customers will benefit from more competitive fares, more coordinated schedules and seamless connectivity between the two Star Alliance members.

Although this is a joint program, ANA and SIA passengers will still be able to enjoy loyalty programs such as increased mileage accrual for certain booking classes on both carriers. Corporate programs can also be aligned for cross-country business travel. ANA CEO Shinichi Inoue said this partnership is a true manifestation of a shared commitment to improving air travel in Asia.

“This joint venture with Singapore Airlines is more than a strategic alliance; it is the realization of ANA’s vision to deliver a new era of customer experience that exceeds expectations,” Inoue said in a press release on Monday (4/21).

Similarly, SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong said that joint fare products, revenue sharing flights and the expansion of codeshare agreements are just the first steps of this collaboration.

“We will deliver greater value, better connectivity and an exceptional customer experience,” he said.

Interestingly, both airlines said they would expand the scope of this commercial joint venture to a number of other strategic countries, including Australia, India, Malaysia and Indonesia, pending regulatory approval. This has the potential to have a positive impact on Indonesia’s aviation and tourism sectors.

This strategic cooperation can expand access to Japan for Indonesian tourists and business people through Singapore as a major transit hub. When expanded to Indonesia, this network will also provide opportunities for major cities in Indonesia to connect more directly to the Japanese market and other countries on the ANA and SIA networks.

Currently, ANA customers can connect to 25 destinations via the SIA network, up from 12. Meanwhile, SIA customers can now connect to 34 destinations on the ANA network, including 30 domestic cities in Japan. This expansion strengthens Singapore’s position as a key hub for East and Southeast Asia. [sources/photo special]
