STARTING May 1, 2025, all foreign tourists entering Thailand will be required to fill out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). This card is a digital version of the previous Immigration Form TM. 6.
According to Anukool Pruksanusak, Deputy Spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office, the announcement was made on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He explained that the Immigration Bureau has introduced a digital system for foreigners entering or leaving Thailand, called the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
All foreign travelers entering the Kingdom by land, sea or air must register online at http://tdac.immigration.go.th. The TDAC application version will be released in the future.
Anukool said foreigners can fill out the TDAC form up to three days before arriving in Thailand. “The required information includes travel documents, passport details, personal details, itinerary, accommodation in Thailand and health status as determined by the Public Health Ministry,” he said, as reported by Nation Thailand.
Anukool stressed that TDAC is not a visa, but rather an online arrival card system designed to simplify the entry process and meet international standards.
Here’s how to fill out the TDAC: (1). Visit the website tdac.immigration.go.th, (2). Fill in your personal and travel information, (3). Submit the form and receive a confirmation email, (4). Present the confirmation and travel documents to the immigration officer upon arrival in Thailand.
The TDAC website supports five languages, namely English, Mandarin, Korean, Russian and Japanese. The website also provides informational brochures and video tutorials. In addition, the Immigration Bureau has coordinated with related agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ e-visa system, the Department of Disease Control’s screening system, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ tourist fee system to ensure a smoother and more efficient entry process.
Thailand used to have a paper form TM.6, which has been suspended since 2022. The paper form was discontinued to reduce waiting time at the airport. With the digital form, the entry procedures for foreign tourists and others are expected to simplify the entry process, especially reducing the immigration processing time.
Thailand is one of the top tourist destinations in Asia. The country is expected to welcome 35.5 million tourists by 2024. This year, the Thai government is targeting 40 million visitors. [sources/photo special]
